27: Time after Time

Friday, October 23, 2009

I just love this Song. " Time After Time" by Cindy lauper. Few artists already revived this song. The version that I like most is by INOJ, but I guess, my most favorite would be the original version by Cindy Lauper. Nothing beats the original! I first heard this song in the movie, "Romy and Michele High School Reunion. They dance to this song in there reunion scene. It was so funny. At first, I didn't really get to understand the meaning of the song..(I was too young back then) but I fell in love with the melody and the beat of the song. Since that day, I would always love to hear and sing along with it.

Here's a video of the dance in Romy and Michele High School Reunion featuring "Time After Time"

"If you're lost, you can look
And you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you
I will be waiting
Time after time"

22: On my own - Les Miserables

Monday, October 19, 2009

*I like this song. I heard it from Katie Holmes in Dawson's Creek season 1.
This song is just so sad..I could relate to the song :(

On my Own

And now I'm all alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to.
Without a home, without a friend
without a face to say hello to
But now the night is near
And I can make-believe he's here

Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and then I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head

On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him 'til morning
Without him, I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way, I close my eyes and he has found me

In the rain
The pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever

And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say there's a way for us

I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him, the world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers

I love him
But every day I'm lonely
All my life I've only been pretending
Without me, his world will go on turning
The world is full of happiness that I have never known

I love him
I love him
I love him...
But only on my own...

(sniffle)

14: Yano

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Do you still remember the band "Yano". I grew up listening to their songs because my brother love this band so much during the 90's. I also appreciate their songs at the early age. Yano are well known for songs that has social and political views.

Yano's songs that I love:

State U

Parami na nang parami

De kotseng estudyante
Sa state university

State university

Walang efficiency
Mga government employee
Sa state university

State university

Antique na laboratory
Bulok na facility
Sa state university

State university

Administration policy
Itaas ang tuition fee
Pati na rin ang dorm fee
Bakit? Walang nagra-rally

Kahit may demolition
Private corporation
Barat na allocation
Sa education

Commercialization
Colonialization
Privatitation
Kawawang oblation

Sa state university
Sa state university

State university

State U! Hate you!

State university

* Dong Abay, vocalist of the band, enabled him to write this song because of the experiences as a student in UP and his dismay in the school.*

Our Father, Hail Mary from thy bounty thru Christ our Lord amen

Nakita kita kahapon, may hila-hilang kariton

* This song discusses the condition of the Filipino people after the 1986 EDSA Revolution*

Banal na Aso, Santong Kabayo

Kaharap ko sa dyip ang isang ale
Nagrorosaryo mata niya’y nakapikit

*This song censure religious hypocrites*

Conio ka Pre

Ola! Conyito y conyita

Paano magmura ang conyong ilokana?
(ukinamshet)
Paano magdasal ang conyong relihiyosa?
(lord give us naman some bread)

How could you be so

What happened to my stuffed toy
It’s important pa naman, you make destroy
Ikaw ha you naughty boy
I’ll donate you to manong boy

How could you be so

Paano magrecite ang conyong kolehiyala?
(ma’am, dunno the answer)
Paano magspeech ang conyong congresista?
(alam nyo, u know?)

How could you be so

Hey guys come on! lakwatsa naman
Tomorrow pa our exams
Take it easy wag ka ng magcram
Watch a movie and go shopping na lang

How could you be so

* This song, talks about the lingo of Philippine's elite, the "Conios"*

* I'm currently listening to their song today, that's why I'm writing something about them.

I LOVE LOVE there songs =)

I like songs that has social and political views*

11: UPUAN

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Kayo po na naka upo,
Subukan nyo namang tumayo
Baka matanaw, at baka matanaw na nyoAlign Center
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko

Ganito kasi yan eh...

Verse 1:

Chorus:

Kayo po na naka upo,
Subukan nyo namang tumayo,
Baka matanaw, at baka matanaw na nyo
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko

Verse 2:

Kaya...

Wag kang masyadong halata
Bato-bato sa langit
Ang matamaay wag magalit
O bato-bato bato sa langit
Ang matamaan ay
Wag masyadong halata
Wag kang masyadong halata
Hehey, (Wag kang masyadong halata)
(Wag kang masyadong halata)

*I like this song because of the political and social aspect
that the song brings. And I'm kinda sick and tired of listening to
old love love song!*

*P.S. I hope Politicians who would hear this song would realize that
before they think of their own interest, they should first
think of the welfare of it's people.
They need to act and serve their people.

7: 21 Guns

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Do you know what's worth fighting for?
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?

Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You're in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

When you're at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul

Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last
You're in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire
Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone?

When it's time to live and let die
And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You're in ruins

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky

One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I

*I love this song...so emo..*
